Ejvor is a log cabin for four people in the village of Vemhån, south of Vemdalen. You stay in the peace and quiet of the forest, close to both downhill slopes and cross-country tracks, and when you get back the wood stove is waiting. Firewood is included.
Three ski areas on one lift pass
Björnrike, Vemdalsskalet and Klövsjö/Storhogna are run by SkiStar and share the same SkiPass. Together they have 44 lifts and 62 runs. With a SkiPass you ride SkiStar’s ski bus between the areas for free. The ski bus does not stop in Vemhån, so from the cabin you drive to the nearest area.
The 2026/27 season
- Vemdalsskalet: 27 November 2026 to 18 April 2027
- Björnrike: 18 December 2026 to 11 April 2027
- Klövsjö/Storhogna: 18 December 2026 to 4 April 2027
The dates are taken from SkiStar’s opening times. Check the latest times on skistar.com before you go.
Björnrike, closest to the cabin
Björnrike is 17 km from the cabin, about 15 minutes by car. The slopes face south with views towards Sonfjället, and the area is family-friendly, with a large children’s and beginners’ area at Björnvallen. At the top you will find SkiStar Snow Park. Björnrike has 16 runs and the Grizzly Express lift, which SkiStar calls Sweden’s longest express lift.
Vemdalsskalet
Vemdalsskalet is about 30 km from the cabin, half an hour by car. The ski area stretches across two mountains with express lifts, and Skalets torg, the square at the base, has shops and restaurants. In the 2026/27 season it opens as early as 27 November, three weeks before the other areas.
Klövsjö and Storhogna
Storhogna is about 40 km from the cabin, just over 40 minutes by car, and the Klövsjö ski area a little further away. Together they have 12 lifts and 19 runs, and they make a good day trip during your week.
Cross-country skiing and floodlit tracks
Vemhån has a 2.6 km floodlit track for classic skiing. It starts at the hockey rink, near the local shop, and is lit until 10 pm. You switch on the lights with a button at the start.
Across Vemdalen there are around 285 km of marked cross-country tracks. Björnrike has 17.5 km of tracks for both classic and skate skiing, starting at the ski track centre.
Après-ski and food
- Bräjks Matbar in Björnrike: après-ski every day all season, ski-in ski-out right on the slopes.
- Bageriet Björnrike: coffee and pastries, pizza, lunch and après-ski under one roof.
- Vemdalsskalets Högfjällshotell: classic après-ski with live bands, troubadours and a dance floor, followed by a piano bar and nightclub.
- Restaurang Toppen at the very top of Skalfjället, with views for miles.
- Pläjset and Annas Pläjs: laid-back après-ski by the Pass Express lift, often with a troubadour.
More than skiing
- Dog sledding: The Howling Dog Farm offers guided tours with sled dogs.
- Snowmobiling: Vemdalen Experience rents out snowmobiles and runs tours along long trails with great views. A snowmobile trail passes close to the cabin.
- Ice fishing: Rundstenstjärnen, a short walk from the cabin, opens for ice fishing in December. You buy a fishing permit from Hån-Vemdalens fiskevårdsområde (the local fishing association) on iFiske.
