Vemhån is a small village of around sixty residents in Härjedalen municipality. It lies on the Veman river, along county road 514 between Sveg and Vemdalen, and is part of the Vemdalen destination. Here you stay in the peace and quiet of the forest, with Björnrike 17 km away.
The village
In the middle of the village is the local shop and café Vemhåträffen, which is open 24/7. A 2.6 km floodlit ski track starts at the hockey rink. Vemhån’s small church was originally a chapel and was consecrated as a church in 1970. By the Sömlingsbäcken stream stands Vemhån’s fulling mill (vadmalstamp) from 1867, one of the few preserved in Sweden and a listed building since 1999.
