When is sportlov in your municipality?
Sportlov, the Swedish winter school holiday, falls between week 7 and week 10, and each municipality decides for itself. Some examples for 2027:
- Week 7 (15–19 February): Gothenburg
- Week 8 (22–26 February): Malmö, Uppsala and Linköping
- Week 9 (1–5 March): Stockholm
- Week 10 (8–12 March): Umeå, Östersund and Sundsvall
Check with your municipality or school. Independent schools may have their own holidays.
Winter holidays in Norway and Denmark
- Norway: Oslo and Trondheim have their winter holiday (vinterferie) in week 8 (22–26 February) and Bergen in week 9 (1–5 March).
- Denmark: Copenhagen, Aarhus and Odense have their winter holiday in week 7 and Aalborg in week 8.
Easter 2027
Easter Sunday falls on 28 March 2027. From Maundy Thursday, 25 March, to Easter Monday, 29 March, is exactly four nights, a full Easter weekend. Björnrike is open until 11 April and Vemdalsskalet until 18 April, so Easter falls well within the ski season.
Tips for your holiday week
- Book early. The school holiday weeks are the most popular.
- Children and beginners: Björnrike has a large children’s and beginners’ area at Björnvallen, about 15 minutes from the cabin.
- Lift passes: The same SkiPass is valid in Björnrike, Vemdalsskalet and Klövsjö/Storhogna, with a free ski bus between the areas.
- Space: four people, for example two adults and two children. Six beds: a double bed, a bunk bed and a sofa bed.
- What to pack: bed linen and towels. Firewood, duvets and pillows are provided in the cabin.
- Dogs: pets are welcome.
